FAQ

Short answers next to the income tax calculator Pakistan. Still not advice.

Is this an official FBR calculator?

No. PkTaxPay is an independent educational tool. It is not published by FBR, the Federal Board of Revenue portal, or the Ministry of Finance. Official materials live on fbr.gov.pk.

Which keyword searches is this built for?

The calculator is written for people searching salary tax calculator Pakistan and income tax calculator Pakistan who want a slab-level take-home estimate, not a filed return.

Should I enter monthly or annual salary?

Either. Monthly figures are multiplied by 12. Annual figures are used as-is. Tax is always computed on the annual amount, then divided by 12 for monthly take-home.

Do these slabs apply to business income?

No. These are salaried Division I rates, used when salary is more than 75% of taxable income. Other individuals and AOPs use a different table.

Why is my employer deducting a different amount?

Employers may annualise a changing package, include a bonus, apply exemptions, or follow a withholding circular. This site only applies published slabs plus section 4AB surcharge on the number you type.

What is the surcharge?

Section 4AB adds a charge when annual taxable income exceeds Rs 10 million. It is 10% of Division I tax in FY 2024-25 and 9% for salaried people in FY 2025-26. It is not a new income slab.

Does the calculator include super tax?

No. Super tax under section 4C applies to very large income on a separate schedule. If that might apply to you, get advice. Do not add it by guesswork from this page.

Are FY 2025-26 slabs final?

This build uses Finance Act 2025 as published. Parliament can amend rates later. If FBR issues a different card, treat FBR as correct and this page as stale until updated.

Do you store my salary?

No server stores it. The figure can stay in your browser (localStorage) and in the page URL if you share the link. See the privacy page.

Can I rely on this to file a return?

No. It is an educational estimate, not tax advice, and not a substitute for IRIS, employer certificates, or a practitioner.
